The academic year of 2006-2007 has been an eventful year for VOBA and will be  remembered in history not only by Ex- Vincentians  but also by the  ex Students of all Jesuit Institutions in the West Zone viz Mumbai Gujarat and Goa. 

We would like to highlight the events organized during this year. 

During late September and early October 2006 VOBA organized the K.P.Jadhav Football Tournament where more than 50 teams affiliated to the Poona District Football Association Div.I & Div II participated. This is the 11th year that we are conducting the tournament. Apart from the winners and runners up trophy we also have awards for the best player, best disciplined teams etc. Mr.M.K Jadhav, whose son is an ex student, has been sponsoring this tournament for the last 11 years. The football fraternity eagerly awaits this event every year since they enjoy playing on the turf of our school. 

Immediately after the finals of the football tournament, VOBA organized the West Zone Regional Congress for the Jesuit Alumni Associations of India (JAAI). This was a 2 day event held on 14th & 15th October 2006 at the Gulati Hall. The focus was 'Water-We Care". We had over 150 delegates from Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Nashik,Sangamner and Goa. The organisation and hospitality was well appreciated by the delegates and Vincent's is now well known in the West Zone. JAAI national committee members including the JAAI President Mr. Ronald D'costa,   National Adviser Fr.Nobert Menezes S.J and  Secretary of JAAI Dr. Santosh Rolands,  also attended this Congress.

We were fortunate to  get  a major  sponsorship from Thermax for the West Zone Congress,  thanks to initiative of ex Vincentians Mr. Deepak Thakur and Mr. Zubin Gagrat  at Thermax.

Prof. Moogat, an ex student and former principal of Wadia College, gave us a handsome donation too. One of our ex students Mr.Xerxes Rao who is now based in Mumbai sponsored the entire catering for the 2 days .  We also bought out a souvenir on the occasion and the school students and alumni members supported us by getting a lot of advertisements for the souvenir. Some of our VOBA committee members have also been nominated to the West Zone Council. 

VOBA, PTA and The School jointly organized the Family Musical Nite (FMN) on 21st Dec 2006. This was a major fund raising event and we had a Goa Band Alcatrazz, this year in attendance. There was 20,000 watts of sound and a dance floor was set up too. We also had numerous games and snacks stalls. We had an attendance of over 3,500 people. A good sponsorship from Venkys for the FMN and all thanks to the initiative of Mr.Viraf Surti an ex student.

This event will now be looked forward by all every year before the Christmas vacations.

This can be a good meeting event for all Ex teachers, Ex Students and revive the good old memories of school and also see the present developments taking place. This event can build up some good networking amongst the Vincentians. 

This year one of our ex student Mr.Manoj Joshi has started the interschool Chandrashekar Joshi Memorial Basketball tournament for the under 10 age group which is being conducted by VOBA.  With a main aim of catching up the budding talent in the field of sports, this tournament has been started. 

Apart from these major activities VOBA has also given about 30 Christmas hampers to the poor students. We also sponsor book awards to the meritorious students at the Xth and XIIth board exams. 

Now with the serious months ahead for the final examinations the VOBA committee wishes all the students BEST of LUCK.  

Also a big Thank You to The Principal Fr. Mario, whose encouragement and support really pushed us, all the teachers and staff members of the school for their wholehearted support for the events of the year.
